How Often Should You Exercise?

A part of leading a healthy lifestyle is to work out on a regular basis. It’s strengthening both our body and mind, allow us more flexibility and endurance, while allowing us to enjoy the company of our training partners, whether they’re our family members, our best friend or the sports group members we’ve joined. Sure, working out has its benefits, but how often should you exercise in order to enjoy all the benefits it offers? Let’s see.

Beginners – One Workout per Week

If you’ve just started working out recently, you should start with at least once a week workouts routine. Conducting your trainings on a constant schedule will allow you to build your routine. When you have a constant routine, it is easier for you to keep up with the program rather than quitting whenever it gets too hard or inconvenient for you to practice.

Build Your Workouts Routine Along with Your Endurance

The stronger you get – the more you can do. After 2-4 months of practicing every week, it will start to feel very easy for you, as your endurance grow stronger from one workout to another. The key is to allow yourself a level of difficulty that will allow you to grow even stronger. Start to combine two workouts per week, and tree workouts per week as you feel you’re up to the challenge. And if you will be consistent, you will surely be up to it.

Vary Your Workouts Types

It is important to work both on endurance as well as on strengthening the body, so make sure you vary your workouts type. It is recommended to have at least one endurance workout and one strengthening workout in one week, in order to allow yourself to grow stronger on both. You can keep those workouts separated or you can split your daily workout into two – one part for cardio and the other for strength.

Allow Your Body to Recover

Some people, turning their workout routine into a daily thing. Now, there’s nothing wrong with that as long as you allow your body the rest it needs in order to recover. Not allowing your body the recovery it needs, may lead to injuries that will deny you from working out for a long time. Meaning, your healthy lifestyle will be compromised and you’ll have to start all over again. So work out smartly!
